An Islamic terrorist went on a stabbing spree in Mannheim, northwest Germany, injuring three people, including a police officer.

The attacker, whose identity has not been released and was shot by police, targeted Michael Stürzenberger, a known critic of Islam. 

The incident took place during a demonstration by Citizens’ Movement Pax Europa on Friday at 11:30 A.M. local time. 

Pax Europa is a civil rights group that seeks to uphold European democratic values and civil liberties in the face of what they as encroaching Islamic fundamentalism that could undermine them.

Video footage shared on social media shows the attacker, a bearded man with glasses, viciously assaulting Stürzenberger near a van and posters for the demonstration. 

Bystanders intervened, but the attacker continued his rampage, eventually stabbing a police officer in the back. 

Another officer then shot the attacker, who was seriously injured and subsequently arrested.

The police are currently investigating whether the motive behind the attack was political, but it’s safe to say this isn’t a tough nut to crack.

Stürzenberger, 59, is a former journalist and blogger known being critical towards Islam. 

Stürzenberger has faced legal action for his statements, including comparing Islam to fascism and calling Islam a “cancer.” 

Despite his past convictions, he continues to be an active speaker at anti-Islam rallies and is known for his pro-Israel stance.
