Biden promised to take Nord Stream offline in February

A re-surfaced video of Biden speaking in February has pundits speculating about the American president’s role in the Nord Stream gas leaks.

“Did Biden really do this? It’s hard to believe,” said Tucker Carlson of Fox News.

Nord Stream refers to two double offshore natural gas pipelines in Europe running under the Baltic Sea from Russia to Germany. Officials said Tuesday that two leaks were identified on the Nord Stream 1, while one of the Nord Stream 2 pipelines showed a pressure drop.

In questioning Biden’s role in the leak, Carlson referred to this February exchange between a reporter and US President Biden:

Biden: If Russia invades (Ukraine), there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it.

Reporter: How will you do that, exactly, since the project is within Germany’s control?

Biden: I promise you we will be able to do it.

The Danish and Swedish governments said three gas leaks on the Nord Stream pipelines were “deliberate.”

Carlson further noted that a Polish politician thanked the USA after leaks were detected.

“Thank you USA” tweeted Radek Sikorski, a Polish MEP who’s also Chairman of the EU-USA delegation.

Sikorski attached a picture of the gas leak with his message to Biden.

Carlson also noted that a new pipeline was unveiled on Tuesday, the day of the gas leaks.

The Baltic Pipe will deliver “non-natural Russian gas in roughly the same areas as Nord Stream one and two,” he said.

Biden isn’t taken seriously as a US President because of his mental decline. He often loses his train of thought mid-sentence and says incoherent things.

Earlier this week, he said the pending hurricane in Florida was evidence to get COVID vaccinated.

Biden’s February Nord Stream comments were read from a script while he wore an earpiece.
