Breaking: Hunter Biden Indicted, faces 9 criminal charges

Reported by The Hill, Hunter Biden, “will face three felony tax charges in relation to tax evasion and filing a false return, as well as six misdemeanor charges for failure to pay taxes between 2016 and 2019.”

The prosecutors wrote in tonight’s press release stating, “The Defendant [Hunter Biden] engaged in a four-year scheme to not pay at least $1.4 million in self-assessed federal taxes he owed for tax years 2016 through 2019, from in or about January 2017 through in or about October 15, 2020, and to evade the assessment of taxes for tax year 2018 when he filed false returns in or about February 2020.”

“Spent millions of dollars on an extravagant lifestyle rather than paying his tax bills”

The indictment further reads that Hunter, “spent millions of dollars on an extravagant lifestyle rather than paying his tax bills.”

According to the charges laid, between 2016 and 2019 Hunter spent an obscene sum of money on an array of things.  From expenses on adult entertainment adding up to $188,960, to “payments – various women” reaching a sum of $683,212.

Also pointing to Hunter’s avid illegal drug use, the summary also states he spent  $71,869 in “drug and alcohol rehabilitation.”

The statement also reads that Hunter, “willfully failed to pay his 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 taxes on time, despite having access to funds to pay some or all of these taxes…”

Justice Department says Hunter Biden could face 17 years in prison if convicted.

According to CNN, “…the Justice Department said Hunter Biden could face a maximum of 17 years in prison if convicted of the charges.”

The report further added, “The case had been close to being resolved in July when a plea deal fell apart. The new tax case stems from Hunter Biden’s lucrative overseas business dealings – including his involvement with Ukrainian energy company Burisma and a Chinese private equity fund – which are at the center of House Republicans’ impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden.”

This development comes after a report by The Counter Signal in 2022 saying that federal agents allegedly found sufficient evidence to charge Hunter Biden with tax fraud and a false statement related to a gun purchase.

In September of 2023, Hunter was indicted under the gun charges, which if convicted on all counts, he could theoretically face as much as 25 years in prison and fines of up to $750,000.  However, Hunter pleaded not guilty to these charges.

According to Fox News, “The White House has repeatedly said that President Biden did nothing wrong and had no knowledge of his son’s business dealings.”
