If you read the news in Canada today the headlines are dominated by endless media fear mongering about COVID-19.
If you look at Trudeau’s schedule, it is full of “personal days.”

If you listen to his government press releases you will hear more promises and posturing ahead of the soon coming federal election.
But something you will barely hear about from the government and much of the media is the fact that the Chinese Communist Government has just confirmed that they will execute a Canadian citizen.
Robert Schellenberg was arrested by Chinese authorities in 2014 on charges of drug smuggling. He says that he was a tourist being framed by a Chinese drug dealer.
Frankly we won’t ever know the truth of the matter because he was hauled in front of a sham Chinese court where evidence doesn’t matter and fair and impartial justice is never done. In 2018 he was sentenced to 15 years in Chinese prison.
What we do know is shortly after that, in December 2018, Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou was lawfully arrested by Canadian authorities on an extradition request from the United States where she faces charges of allegedly committing fraud in order to bypass US sanctions on the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Less than a month later, Robert Schellenberg was back in Chinese court to appeal his prison sentence. Without warning and without cause, the court arbitrarily determined that his sentence would be revised and he would face the death penalty.
It was around this time that China also arbitrarily detained Canadians Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor on charges of espionage which most western observers have said are trumped up and politically motivated.
Fast forward to August 10, 2021. Today a high level Chinese court has confirmed and all but finalized Robert Schellenberg’s death sentence. Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor languish in Chinese prison, awaiting almost certain convictions on politically motivated charges in their own sham trials.
Yet what is the response from Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government? They issue weak objections and they quietly beg the United States for help.
While Justin Trudeau and his ministers travel the country campaigning on Canadian tax dollars, three Canadians sit in Chinese prisons. One of them is set to be executed by the Chinese Communist Party.
One of the questions Canadians might want to ask this election is when the Prime Minister plans on doing his job, protecting Canadian citizens and when will he finally take real action to push back on Beijing and the Chinese Communist Party?
