Albertan pathologist Dr. Roger Hodkinson unloaded on the medical journal establishment after a study he co-authored with prominent experts was pulled within hours of publication, without explanation.
Last week, a preprint study from the Lancet was retracted by the journal’s editors within mere hours of publication. The authors of the study had determined that the COVID vaccine caused the majority of deaths that occurred post-inoculation.
“This paper was an estimation of the cause of death among people who died shortly after vaccination,” Hodkinson told The Counter Signal.
“It was the professional opinion that 74% of the deaths were due to the vaccine.”
The authors still have not been told why the paper was pulled, other than a vague editor’s note that claims the study’s conclusions were not consistent with its methodology. Hodkinson, who’s done thousands of autopsies himself, co-authored the study alongside reputable doctors including cardiologist Dr. Peter McCullough, Yale epidemiologist Dr. Harvey Risch, cancer specialist Dr. William Makis, Dr. Heather Gessling, and Dr. Nicholas Hulsher.
“The methodology was blue chip – approved by Dr. Peter McCullough personally who has a huge experience with academic standards for publication,” Hodkinson said.
The Lancet did not respond to The Counter Signal’s request for comment.
Since it was pulled by the Lancet, the authors submitted the study to the British Medical Journal (BMJ). However, the BMJ told them “we do not think it is right for The BMJ at this current time” because it is a “low priority for us.”
Hodkinson, who still holds a medical license in Alberta and is also a board member of the Wellness Company, said he thinks it’s a matter of following the money.
“Open the pages of any medical journal and you will see it dominated by pharmaceutical advertisements,” he said.
Hodkinson didn’t just focus on the Lancet, but also Elsevier, which owns the Lancet.
“Elsevier is a corrupt organization owned by Big Pharma because of the advertising revenue,” he said.
“There’s nothing wrong with making money, however because of the investment in advertising in the journals, they control the opinion… retracting papers that don’t fit the narrative of government and Big Pharma because it’s bad for business.”
Elsevier’s website states, “We help pharmaceutical and medical device companies connect and engage with doctors, nurses and other HCPs [healthcare practitioners] through high-quality, independently-published content solutions and integrated media campaigns.”
The website also states, “We are committed to ensuring that the potential for advertising, reprint or other commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions.”
Elsevier publishes scientific findings through more than 2,800 journals.
