Far-left environmental radicals have successfully shut down a pipeline that carries millions of litres of Western crude oil into the US.
The operator of the pipeline, Enbridge Energy, announced that Line 5 was temporarily shut down on Tuesday after radicals broke into their property and threatened to pull an emergency valve.
“We respect the rights of others to express their views on the energy we all use, but today’s pipeline tampering incident involving Enbridge was not a lawful protest. It was a criminal activity that put people and the environment at risk,” company spokesman Ryan Duggy said.
Why are both the Canadian and US governments allowing a few extremists to hold Alberta’s energy hostage?
The answer might be found in the anti-Alberta energy campaign report released earlier today.
As per the report, “After years of targeting oil and gas infrastructure projects, and the financial and insurance companies which backed them, beginning in 2012 proponents claim it has achieved more than 1,000 divestments representing $8 trillion.”
“This includes seven campaigns specifically targeting divestment in the Alberta oil sands. For example, the SumOfUs campaign targeted the Trans Mountain Pipeline, Keystone XL, and the Teck Frontier Mine.”
US organizations like the George Soros funded Tides Foundation have been hellbent on destroying any chance for Alberta energy products to get to the market and in turn destroy Canada’s prosperity
On top of the billions of dollars flowing into Canada’s far-left advocacy groups masquerading as protectors of the environment, greedy US politicians like Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer use their powers to undermine Alberta at every turn.
For political gain, Whitmer attempted to shut down Line 5 earlier this year potentially threatening the energy security of Canada and her own state all under the guise of “protecting the environment.”
The Canadian government had to practically beg President Joe Biden to intervene to prevent the disaster from happening.
It’s time that Canadians wake up and demand more from their governments and law enforcement especially when it comes to punishing far-left radicals payrolled by US dark money.
