A bar in Idaho is going viral after proclaiming June to be “Heterosexual Awesomeness Month” and offering free beers to straight dudes ‘dressed like straight dudes’.

Idaho bar celebrates ‘Heterosexual Awesomeness Month’, free beers for straight guys

The Old State Saloon in Eagle, Idaho, welcomed all to come down to celebrate the world’s beloved heterosexuals, saying, “without them, none of us would be here!”

“June will be OSS’s inaugural Heterosexual Awesomeness Month! Come join us all month to celebrate heterosexuals, for without them, none of us would be here,” the Old State Saloon wrote in a Facebook post.

They added that every Monday for the month of June will now be “Hetero Male Monday”, with the first beer free—as long as the straight guys are dressed like straight guys.

“Each Monday will be Hetero Male Monday and any heterosexual male dressed like a heterosexual male will receive a free draft beer,” the post continues. “Each Wednesday is Heterosexual Couples Day, and each heterosexual couple will receive 15% off their bill.”

They’ve since announced discounts for heterosexual women, too—Hetero Her Happy Hour—and in subsequent Facebook posts, the bar claims they’ve regularly sold out food and had the biggest sales in the bar’s history.

Most comments on the bar’s posts have been overwhelmingly positive, including from the gay community. In fact, after advertising for a judge to judge how straight the straight dudes are dressed, several lesbians stepped up to apply.

However, there has been some pushback from heterophobic individuals.

In an interview with Fox News, the owner of Old State Saloon, Mark Fitzpatrick, said, “It’s my dream to build a community event centre on some nearby land I own to help support conservative ideals. We’ve received so many truly evil comments from the extreme LGBTQ+ crowd. Some of the comments are truly horrific. But, there’s also been so much support!”
