Following the SCOTUS overturning of Roe v. Wade, pro-abortion activists have gone so far as trying to lead a siege of the Arizona legislature.
Videos show several protesters attempting to lead a charge on the Arizona legislature before law enforcement guarding the facility fire what appears to be tear gas canisters, which quickly disperses the back ranks of activists against the legitimate rulings of the Supreme Court.
Arizona is just one of the 22 states listed by NPR as likely to ban or “severely limit abortion.” While the recent federal ruling does not outright ban abortion in Arizona, current State law sets the absolute maximum time limit for accessing abortion at 15 weeks after conception (just over the typical three-month period that most women would suspect that they’re pregnant).
According to AzCentreal, the Supreme Court decision will not come into effect for 25 days. Nonetheless, protesters are out in full force to ensure this never happens.
As previously reported by The Counter Signal, several Democrat lawmakers and activists called for mass protests to defy the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Before the massive showing at the AZ legislature, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called the decision by the highest court in the land “illegitimate” in a video posted to social media.
“Take to the streets!” Ocasio-Cortez was heard chanting, edging a crowd in Washington, DC, on.
In another video, Congresswoman Maxine Waters tells a crowd that the Supreme Court has “not seen nothing yet.”
“Women are going to control their bodies, no matter how they try and stop us,” Waters said.
“The hell with the Supreme Court, we will defy them… We will be out by the thousands. We will be out by the millions.”
So far, we have not seen any reports of people killed in the aftermath of the SCOTUS decision protests — though tensions across the country remain high.
Of note, a radical feminist group called Jane’s Revenge has promised a “Night of Rage,” which may be unfolding as this article is written.
