Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s itinerary has been completely blank this week, as the PM is nearing the end of his post-divorce announcement family vacation with Sophie.
The extended absence amidst some of the worst polling numbers his government has ever seen.
Wednesday marked yet another “personal day” for the PM, as did Tuesday, Monday, Sunday, and Saturday.
Last week, on Friday, Trudeau’s itinerary showed “private meetings” on top of just one phone call with the President of Niger, Mohamed Bazoum. The day before, Trudeau’s schedule showed “private meetings,” meaning it’s possible the only work he’s put in the past seven days was one phone call with Bazoum.
In fact, last Wednesday, Trudeau had just one phone call with the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, on top of more “private meetings.”
In other words, Trudeau has taken a vacation over the past eight days, without declaring it a vacation.
Running cover
In his absence, Trudeau’s Chief of Staff, Katie Telford, has done her best to distract Canadians, only to get fact-checked on Twitter after she falsely tweeted that no Conservative MP was “pro-choice.”

Telford included an article about a Bill the Conservatives tabled — and the Liberals rejected — that would increase the penalty on criminals who physically assault women when the women are pregnant. However, Liberals voted against the Bill, and claimed the Conservatives were trying to take away abortion rights since it had to do with protecting the women’s fetus.
Trudeau says he’s Team Barbie
On Sunday, Trudeau told Canadians he’s “team Barbie.”
The PM tweeted a picture of himself with his oldest son, Xavier, while the two were standing in front of the Barbie movie poster inside a theatre.
It was Trudeau’s first family-related post since informing Canadians that he and Sophie Trudeau were getting divorced, and asking for privacy on the matter for the sake of his children.
Last year, Trudeau’s daily itineraries revealed that he worked 0-2 hours for 42% of the year.
