Alberta Premier Jason Kenney took some shots at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for appointing radical environmentalist and extremist Steven Guilbeault as Minister of the Environment earlier this week.
Kenney called Trudeau and Guilbeault out for “gross hypocrisy” after they repeatedly shut down efforts to shift towards nuclear energy – a safe alternative to fossil fuels identified by experts across the world.
“I think it highlights the gross hypocrisy of the radical green left who claim that there is a climate emergency but oppose the single technology which could most dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and that is nuclear power,” Kenney said.
“It is ridiculous when you see governments around the world preaching climate purity like Germany that have shut down their nuclear plants to reopen coal plants. This is the hypocrisy of Mr. Guilbeault and many others.”
Guilbeault, who was once arrested after illegally scaling the CN Tower while he was a radical GreenPeace extremist, has had an anti-nuclear agenda for some time.
His appointment by Trudeau is in line with the Liberal government’s agenda to cripple Canada’s oil and gas industry.
While jet-setting at COP26 with a massive delegation of sycophantic journalists and cabinet members, the prime minister announced a crippling blow to Alberta’s energy industry by saying he would force a cap on oil and gas emissions.
“Which brings me to my next major commitment, we’ll cap oil and gas sector emissions today and ensure they decrease tomorrow at a pace and scale needed to reach net-zero by 2050,” Trudeau said.
“That’s no small task for a major oil and gas producing country. It’s a big step; that’s absolutely necessary.”
Meanwhile, the prime minister and hundreds of Canadian elites get to parade around Scotland on the taxpayer’s dime flying private jets and having personal drivers while they tell Canadians to reduce their carbon footprint.
