A security camera has caught a man stealing Calgary mayoral candidate Jeromy Farkas’s election material.
In the video, a man can be seen making a quick beeline from across the street upon seeing a Farkas sign. He shows no hesitation and quickly removes the sign before continuing down the road.
Can you identify this person? Contact the @CalgaryPolice if you have any info. We've had hundreds of signs stolen/vandalized during our campaign. Signs & bus benches were paid for by everyday Calgarians. There are dark forces trying to silence citizens.#yyccc #yyc #yyctheft pic.twitter.com/rUbCD8JBrl

According to Farkas, he has had hundreds of signs stolen or vandalized throughout the campaign.
This sabotage is made all the worse, too, as Farkas is funded by private Calgarians conscientiously donating to his campaign.
As it stands, the Conservative Farkas is currently polling in second (32 per cent), just behind the liberal Jyoti Gondek (40 per cent).
Moreover, 33 per cent of Calgarians remain undecided on who they plan to vote for, so any lack of exposure could impact the election results substantially.
The effect of removing what advertisements Farkas has is further compounded by the fact third-party advertisers, specifically Calgary’s Future, are advertising on behalf of Gondek with a $1.7 million bank role, mainly coming from various unions.
“The truth is Councillor Gondek, she doesn’t answer to you. She doesn’t answer to anyone remotely resembling everyday people,” said Farkas on October 6.
“She answers to the money. She answers to the backroom union bosses who, at this very moment, have shovelled in those $1.7 million to buy her the mayor’s seat.”
Farkas is now asking anyone with information on the perpetrator to contact Calgary police.
