MANUFACTURED CRISIS: Hospitals start firing unvaccinated staff

Canadian hospitals have begun to make good on their promise to fire their unvaccinated staff — even as they cry out that they face staffing shortages.

On Thursday, Windsor Regional Hospital fired or revoked the privileges of 63 staff members or employees who were firm in their resistance to medical tyranny, having not received a single dose of COVID vaccines.

This figure includes 57 outright terminated employees and six professional staff (physicians, midwives, and dentists) who had their privileges suspended indefinitely.

The fired staff members were already on unpaid leave since September 22, but the financial punishment proved ineffective in coercing them to get the vaccine. Thus, the hospital felt it necessary to outright fire them, leaving them unemployed and unable to provide for themselves — because poverty has never negatively affected someone’s health.

A spokesperson for the hospital said that less than five employees have exemptions and that none of these people are currently working inside the hospital.

“I’m overwhelmingly in support of having policies in place, and I feel very safe… that all of the staff I work with are vaccinated,” said Windsor Regional Hospital Dr. Jessica Summerfield.

This recent round of firing comes after Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare fired or suspended the privileges of 24 staff members.

Meanwhile, Erie Shores HealthCare placed ten unvaccinated staff members on unpaid leave this Monday.

While several doctors say they are overjoyed with the additional safety provided by the imminent unemployment of their colleagues, they did not comment on how smart it is to fire so many healthcare workers right before flu season when a fifth wave is expected, and the vaccine has been shown not to prevent transmission anyways.

How hospitals plan on handling a worse wave of COVID with less staff is unclear. We will all just have to ‘trust the science’ of firing conscientious employees.
