The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has suspended J.A.K.K Tuesdays’ liquor license after they refused to discriminate against patrons based on vaccination status. The AGCO says they are moving to remove the popular pub’s license permanently.
The move comes after the Kingston pub boldly stated on social media that they had every intention of defying the provincial government’s new regulations, whereafter the AGCO received numerous complaints from bootlickers and tattletales.
“The hospitality sector has been hard hit by the pandemic,” said AGCO CEO Tom Mungham in a statement.
“The vaccine certificates are allowing businesses to keep operating while protecting the safety of their patrons. Liquor licensed establishments have an important role to play in keeping the sector open and the community safe. We appreciate and recognize all the establishments that are taking this responsibility seriously and will continue addressing situations where that responsibility is being disregarded.”
J.A.K.K Tuesdays appear completely undeterred by the removal of their license and say that they are now hiring new Kitchen Staff, Servers, and, yes, Bartenders.
In an interview with Rebel News, Kelly Hale, the owner of J.A.K.K. Tuesdays, explained the reasoning behind his defiance.
“It’s wrong, basically,” said Hale. “I mean, it’s illegal what they’re doing. I have no right to ask [for] anybody’s personal medical information. And I will never discriminate. So, as soon as you start [doing] those things, it’s a discriminatory process.”
Hale adds that even if the government condemns his actions, everyday Canadians have met him with an outpouring of love and support.
