Research shows media ignored Afghanistan to focus on anti-Trudeau protestors

A shocking new report reveals how the mainstream media spent more time attacking Canadians who were protesting Prime Minister Justin Trudeau than they did covering his total failure in Afghanistan.

On Tuesday, True North revealed that a memo by the Media Ecosystem Observatory found that news headlines about the anti-Trudeau rallies “far exceed” those about Afghanistan.

Between August 27 to September 9, the biased media spent 25 per cent more time painting protestors as radicals than mentioning the Canadians Trudeau left behind to the mercy of the Taliban.

“We pulled all headlines from Canadian news organizations from August 27 to September 9 (totalling 8,709 headlines) and found 3.1 per cent contained a reference to the protests (representing 268 stories during that period). Coverage of these events far exceeds that of other major stories during this period, including Afghanistan (2.3 per cent) and gun control (2.3 per cent),” researchers wrote.

Of course, this all plays into the hands of Trudeau, who, for the last few weeks, has spent his campaign dividing Canadians between vaccinated and unvaccinated or referring to people concerned for their health as “racist” or “misogynistic.”

Trudeau would love it if everyone spent more time talking about how he is the victim during this election and not about the countless victims his policies have left behind.

Sadly, the mainstream media is willing to play along with his melodrama.

Even more shocking is that the media immediately changed the channel after Trudeau dropped the writ on August 16, 2021.

The researchers note that when the writ dropped, 12.5 per cent of headlines were about Afghanistan but soon after, it dropped to 5 per cent, then to the shockingly low final result of 2.3 per cent by September 7.

Meanwhile, just south of the border US President Joe Biden can not avoid a single day without fielding questions from the media about how he handled Afghanistan.

Do we need more proof that Canadian mainstream media outlets are nothing more than Trudeau’s own personal press corps?

When even “disinformation” researchers like the McGill University academics who put together that report are pointing out how biased media coverage was, you know that Canada’s mainstream media is totally compromised.
