Moe outlined the Saskatchewan Party’s plan to reduce income taxes as his first campaign promise.

“The Saskatchewan Party plan will reduce income tax by raising the personal income tax exemption, the spousal exemption, the child exemption and the seniors supplement by $500 each year for the next four years,” a statement reads.

The Conservative leader stated that over the four-year term of his re-election, the tax reduction will save a family of four $2,100 and a senior couple $2,100.

Saskatchewan’s provincial election is scheduled for October 28, 2024.

Premier Scott Moe’s primary competitor is Carla Beck, leader of the NDP. Polls indicate the Saskatchewan Party is favoured, with around 49% of voter support, while the NDP follows closely at 42%.

The NDP leader Beck opened her campaign “with a guarantee to not raise taxes.”
