UPDATE: Widely disliked Alberta Lockdown Minister swapped with Jason Copping

On September 21, Senior Alberta government officials confirmed to The Counter Signal that Alberta Health Minister Styler Shandro is being removed from his position as health minister.

This news came only one day after Alberta introduced its vaccine passport.

Shandro has been plagued by scandal throughout his tenure as Minister of Health. Allegations of patient data leaks, personally confronting doctors, and belligerently responding to questions about transparency have caused Shandro to become the face of a fledgling government.

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney will formally make this announcement at 3:30 p.m. during a ceremony. Following Shandro’s formal removal, it is unclear whether more people will be removed or replaced from his cabinet.

Possible replacements suggested off the record by government officials include Jason Copping and Rebecca Shultz.

Just after 3:30 p.m. MT, the lieutenant governor of Alberta Salma Lakhani confirmed reports that Health Minister Tyler Shandro would be removed from his position.

However, in a shocking twist, it was revealed that Shandro would not be fired, rather he would merely be shuffled around Kenney’s cabinet to a less prominent role.

“Your honour, I ask the honourable Jason Copping to step forward to take the oath as Minister of Health,” said Kenney, during a short ceremony to replace Shandro.

Copping, of course, accepted his role, followed by Shandro accepting his new role as Minister of Labour and Immigration, which was previously held by Copping.

Indeed, Shandro dutifully accepted his demotion — likely happy to be out of the limelight.
