Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s approval ratings are at historic lows, according to a poll from Morning Consult.

Trudeau approval falls to record lows after cabinet vacation

The PM’s disapproval ratings have soared up to nearly 60%, the poll of 1500 nationwide respondents showed.

On August 23, the PM’s disapproval rating was at 49%, and just six days later, it went up to 59%.

Likewise, on August 23, 42% approved of Trudeau, which went down to 35% on August 29.

His approval rating is even lower than that of US President Joe Biden, who sadly can barely speak in sentences that anyone can understand anymore.

Trudeau’s disapproval numbers are also higher than Biden’s as of August 29.

What exactly changed to make his approval ratings drop is unclear, as the Trudeau Liberals have been relatively quiet over the past week.

However, it seems possible The Counter Signal’s coverage impacted the sudden changes.

On August 22, The Counter Signal’s Editor-in-Chief Keean Bexte covered the Liberal cabinet retreat in Prince Edward Island where party members presumably strategized on ways to improve their awful polling numbers.

Bexte’s on-the-ground reporting depicted Trudeau’s cabinet members enjoying oysters, ice cream, and cigars, while avoiding his questions at all costs.

All the while, no mainstream media journalists bothered to show up at the event, with some later commenting on how nothing seemed to get accomplished at the retreat.

At one point, the PM’s security team pushed Bexte onto the street directly in front of oncoming traffic to help Trudeau avoid answering any questions.

Videos from the coverage received millions of views through various social media outlets.

Will he step down?

Last week, a different poll from Abacus Data showed that the majority of Canadians believe Trudeau should step down before the next election.

The week before, an anonymous Liberal MP said their boss’ recent cabinet shuffle was akin to putting “lipstick on a pig.”
