Trudeau boots Boissonnault

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has finally removed Liberal MP Randy Boissonnault from his cabinet amid a flurry of scandals involving Boissonnault’s alleged business dealings and fake Indigenous identity claims, as well as his former company having a connection to a woman implicated in cocaine drug busts.

This development, first reported by Robert Fife of the Globe and Mail, comes after learning that as of Tuesday, Edmonton Police Service confirmed they are investigating Boissonnault’s former business, Global Health Imports (GHI), and business partner, Stephen Anderson, over allegations of fraud.

Boissannault owned 50% of GHI until June 2024, and has been accused of being involved in the company’s business dealings after getting appointed to a cabinet role in 2021, which is forbidden under ethics rules.

Moreover, Boissannault had previously claimed he had Indigenous ties, and only later clarified that his adopted family were “status Métis.” This claim has also proven to be false.

Making matters borderline comical, last week it was discovered that GHI previously shared a post office box with a woman who has been implicated in two major drug busts.
