Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was asked point blank if he plans to talk to China’s President Xi Jinping regarding the bombshell election interference report, but he wouldn’t say “yes.”
“I asked the PM twice if he is going to raise alleged Chinese interference in the 2019 election with Xi Jinping and he didn’t give a clear answer,” said Global News reporter Mackenzie Gray.
“He said he’s willing to engage with leaders on issues that are important to Canadians but wouldn’t say if he’ll talk to Xi.”
Gray even asked Trudeau the same question a second time, but Trudeau again offered a word salad without committing to a “Yes” or “No.”
This comes just days after a bombshell report from Sam Cooper of Global News uncovering a report the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), Canada’s spy agency, gave to Trudeau in January 2022.
The report said China’s Toronto Consulate secretly funded at least 11 Chinese Communist Party-affiliated (CCP) candidates in Canada’s 2019 federal election.
“When another country interferes in your election, you stand up to that country. Trudeau was asked twice on Sunday if he would ask China’s President Xi about his country’s interference in Canada’s elections. Trudeau couldn’t answer,” tweeted the Sun’s Brian Lilley.
On Monday, Trudeau refused to call China’s treatment of the Uyghur Muslims a genocide.
An international media member surprised Trudeau with the question.
“Tomorrow you’re going to be at the G20 with China. The Canadian Parliament has already called China’s treatment of the Uyghur’s a genocide, so why haven’t you?”
Trudeau said it’s important to be careful about what’s called a genocide and what’s not.
Meanwhile, as journalist Spencer Fernando points out, “Justin Trudeau has repeatedly accused Canada of genocide. He even said Canada was committing an ‘ongoing genocide’, a statement he made while he was PM, thus implying that he was leading a genocidal nation.”
