Senator Ted Cruz said Dr. Anthony Fauci should be arrested and thrown in jail for lying to congress under oath.

Cruz made his statements earlier this week at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

Cruz said Fauci not only led policies that destroyed lives and businesses but because “he lied repeatedly, over and over and over again.” 

“There has been no person who has done more to destroy trust in the scientific and medical community than Dr. Anthony Fauci, who told millions of Americans lies willingly, knowingly, glibly, and supremely arrogantly,” Cruz added, as reported by Conservative Brief.

Cruz said the likelihood that the Biden administration would prosecute Fauci is about 0%. But he said the Republican House majority permits hearings.

“In any sane system, he would be prosecuted for lying under oath, and he would go to jail for lying under oath to Congress,” Cruz said.

Last fall, Fauci resigned as Chief Medical Advisor to the President and NIAID director after holding the latter position for nearly four decades and seven presidencies.

Over the course of the COVID pandemic, Fauci had more than a few controversial moments, frequently contradicting his previous health advice regarding respiratory viruses and admitting that lockdowns are a tool of coercion to get people vaccinated — which he claimed would be effective in preventing transmission but never was.

In June, the quadruple vaxxed Fauci caught COVID. Not only did the vaccines fail to prevent infection, but Fauci needed Paxlovid to help him deal with his symptoms.

Earlier this week, Medical professionals tore into the US Government for its COVID pandemic response at a hearing and accused health officials of spreading misinformation and suppressing science. 

“The greatest perpetrator of misinformation during the pandemic has been the United States government,” one of the medical professionals said.
