Trudeau responds to Trump with video depicting how awesome Canada was before he became PM

In response to repeated trolling from US President Trump, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau posted a video on Boxing Day highlighting the allyship between the two countries. However, the video was actually made in 2010, five years before he became Prime Minister, opened Canada’s borders, and mandated tampons in men’s washrooms.

Trudeau wrote “Some information about Canada for Americans” above the posted video, which was originally a pre-recorded short film that aired on NBC prior to 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

The video details the two countries’ massive economic relationship, and goes through some Canadian military accomplishments, including the 1980 rescue of six Americans from Iran during the hostage crisis, orchestrated by Canadian ambassador to Iran, Ken Taylor.

A number of social media users have responded to Trudeau by making fun of him for relying on a video that was made before he was elected in order to showcase Canada’s greatness.

Trudeau’s post follows Donald Trump’s Truth Social post made on Christmas Day, in which the US President again mocked Trudeau by referring to him as “Governor Justin Trudeau” and said that Canada could become the 51st state of the United States.
