A week after admitting he caught COVID for a third time despite having received six vaccines and boosters, Dr. Anthony Fauci is once again advocating people to start wearing masks.
The former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said COVID-19 cases are rising globally.
“The message is that if you are in a risk category, that you have got to take this seriously,” Fauci stated during an interview with MedPage Today.
The 83-year-old said that those at higher risk of infection—such as seniors with chronic lung disease or obese individuals—should consider wearing masks in enclosed indoor spaces.
“Certainly, when you get out on an airplane, you should do that,” Fauci said. “And you should be careful to avoid crowded places where you don’t know the status of other people.”
Fauci has been a consistent advocate for vaccinations and boosters, even as the public has become aware of their limitations.
In recent testimony, Dr. Anthony Fauci disclosed that the widely implemented six-foot social distancing rule was not based on scientific evidence but rather “it just sort of happened.”
The interview also highlighted Fauci’s lack of specific recall regarding evidence for masking children. When asked about studies supporting the practice, he responded, “I might have, but I don’t recall specifically that I did.”
Fauci further commented on the effectiveness of masking children, stating, “I still think that’s up in the air.”
Canada stopped tracking vaccination data a while back, after it was evident that only 5% of the Canadian population was following Health Canada’s advice to receive a COVID vaccine shot every six months.
Earlier this month, far-left social media users in Ontario expressed outrage and dismay that the province has decided to save $20 million per year by ending its COVID wastewater testing.
