The Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo) has confirmed it works with the World Economic Forum (WEF).
AIMCo, which is displayed on the WEF’s webpage as a partner organization, is a Crown corporation, owned by the Province of Alberta.
In an email, AIMCo’s media relations spokesperson told The Counter Signal that the WEF is one of their many partners, but offered few other details.
“AIMCo maintains memberships in a wide range of pension, business and investment-related organizations that bring benefit to our work in helping our clients build better financial futures for the Albertans they serve,” the spokesperson said.
The Counter Signal inquired for more detail on how the WEF partnership brings benefits to AIMCo, but did not hear back before publication.
AIMCo’s website states that it “invests globally on behalf of 17 pension, endowment and government fund clients in Alberta — managing more than 30 pools of capital.”
The WEF website indicates that AIMCo’s assets under management are approximately $100 billion.
The WEF website further states, “Our Partners engage in Centres to shape the future, accessing networks and experts to ensure strategic decision-making on the most pressing world issues.”
Mainstream media calls WEF agenda a conspiracy
This follows multiple mainstream media outlets publishing the exact same hit piece against Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre, framing him as a conspiracy theorist due to his positioning against the unelected WEF.
State-broadcaster CBC, CTV and the Toronto Star all published the same article written by Mickey Djuric of the Canadian Press, a wire service provided to all of the outlets.
The identical headlines read “Poilievre’s Conservative Party embracing language of mainstream conspiracy theories.”
In the article, Djuric claims that it’s a “debunked conspiracy theory” that the World Economic Forum (WEF) is “attempting to impose its agenda on sovereign governments.”
It’s unclear how this is a theory that can be debunked, but it’s worth mentioning the fact that WEF head Klaus Schwab is on record saying that his globalist organization has “penetrated the cabinets” of national governments, including Canada.
“I was at a reception for Prime Minister Trudeau and I know that half of his cabinet, or even more than half of his cabinet, are actually Young Global Leaders,” said Schwab in 2017.
Moreover, in 2020, the Liberal government signed onto the WEF’s Agile Nations charter without parliamentary input.
