With the election four weeks out, the BC Conservatives posted a video of a family eating in a Dairy Queen restaurant while, just outside, two adults are smoking crack.
The party’s social media said it came from a parent in Port Alberni.
“This is the new normal under the radical BC NDP and David Eby’s weak leadership. Enough is enough,” the party stated.
In the video, three kids are eating ice cream in a booth, and through the window just behind them, two adults are smoking crack.
The Conservatives and NDP have been ramping up their campaigns respectively, with NDP Premier David Eby and Conservative leader John Rustad taking jabs at each other.
Earlier this week, Rustad highlighted a related story where a young girl missed her bus because the stop was occupied by individuals using drugs.
Eby’s drug policies have been one of Rustad’s focal points during his campaign. Overdose deaths have skyrocketed under Eby’s drug-decriminalisation policies, and more and more videos are revealing brazen instances of drug users taking over parks and other public spaces, affecting children and families.
Eby, meanwhile, mocked Rustad on Wednesday and Thursday for a video of Rustad mentioning concern over the fact that a bug-food factory recently opened in Ontario, and certain environmentalists are pushing for less meat consumption, replaced by “alternative protein” bug-eating.
With the election on October 19, the two parties both remain projected to win 44% of the vote, as per 338Canada.
