Calgary’s Mayor Jyoti Gondek wants to make it illegal to protest anywhere inside 100 meters of events where men dressed in lingerie read story books to children.
Gondek has spoken out against pro-children protesters who’ve been against drag queens (men in lingerie) who, for some reason, want to read storybooks to children.
Some protesters are also against biological men being able to use women’s bathrooms as long as they “identify” as a woman at that moment.
Gondek calls the protesters “hateful.”
The city proposed the “Safe and Inclusive Access Bylaw” which Calgary’s city council will debate on Tuesday.
“Any person who is convicted of an offence pursuant to this Bylaw is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000.00 or imprisonment for not more than one year, or both,” the proposal reads.
Gondek had alluded to clamping down on pro-children protestors in recent weeks.
Last week, just days after Gondek called for Drag-Queen Story Hour protesters to be fined for “hatred,” they were attacked while peacefully protesting in front of city hall.
Last month, even Conservative MP Michelle Rempel Garner called ‘drag storytime’ protesters hateful.
Numerous disgusting videos exist online of drag queen events. One video surfaced last week of a drag queen dressed and speaking provocatively in front of adults and children somewhere in the US.
In October, a woman was arrested in Ontario while protesting just outside a church hosting a “family-friendly” drag show titled Hallow-Queen & Pump-King Spooktacular.
“I’m protesting grown adults who want to dress in lingerie and dance in front of children,” the woman said.
“You’re supposed to protect the children,” she told police.
Subsequently, the OPP arrested the woman for “swearing and yelling in a public place,” and the event proceeded as planned.
