Since getting signed in as Canada’s new Health Minister, Mark Holland made one of his first public speaking appearances on Wednesday — and promptly told Canadians to get another COVID shot.
Holland, a former CBC panelist with an undergraduate degree in History and Political Science, fielded a question from a reporter about the ‘rising’ COVID cases in Canada.
“We’re monitoring the situation very closely,” Holland said.
Holland further said he’s evaluating the situation every day.
“The critical thing is for everybody to get their vaccinations up to date,” he said. “We are ready to take action as this situation evolves.”
The reporter further asked if people should “wait” or “get their shot now,” as if these are the only two options.
“I don’t think people should hesitate in getting vaccinated at any time,” Holland responded.
CTV PSYOP
Perhaps not coincidental, the reporter was from CTV, whose outlet put out 15 articles on COVID in about a 24-hour span this week.
Holland’s statement reflects much of what Trudeau’s former Health Minister, Jean-Yves Duclos, told Canadians last year — when he said they should get vaccinated every nine months to be considered ‘up to date.’
“Let me be very clear: Up to date means you have received your last dose in the past nine months,” Duclos said last year.
Canadians are done with COVID
Only 5% of the Canadian population has received a COVID vaccine shot in the past six months.
