The Liberals have fallen into a tie with the lowly NDP, according to a new poll, while the Conservatives have a twenty-point lead over them both.

Conservatives reach 20 point lead over NDP, Liberals

Nanos Research founder Nik Nanos calls it a “dream scenario” for the Conservatives, and a disaster for the Trudeau Liberals.

According to the poll of just over 1,000 Canadians nationwide, 41.6% of respondents indicate they plan to vote Conservatives, while just 21.6% say they plan to vote for the NDP, and 21.5% Liberal.

“They’ve got to stop hemorrhaging support, because this could be a potential political death spiral for the Liberals if this trend continues,” Nanos said. “They’ve got to try to figure out what they’re going to do to try to stay afloat and be competitive right now.”

To this, the Liberals are telling Canadians that the Conservatives will cut funding to things like dental care, child care, and pharma care. The Liberals are also banging on about “anti-abortion legislation.”

In reality, the only legislation the Conservatives proposed related to such was a defeated private member’s bill that sought to increase the penalties on those who assault visibly pregnant women.
