CTV put out a staggering 18 COVID-related pieces of content – articles or videos – between Wednesday and Thursday.
That’s 18 stories in forty-eight hours.
Multiple stories were related to a sub-variant in Saskatchewan.
Others were about public health updates. One touched on “COVID-19 on the rise in Canada.”
Social media users online pointed out the absurdity of CTV talking about COVID so much.
“In other news, people still get colds,” one user named Jeff Morrisson wrote.
Another user, Lawrence Fowler, wrote “scare tactics… don’t comply!”
“They’re priming us. Thankfully even the jab junkies are done with the fear porn,” X user David Graham said.
Only 5% of the Canadian population has received a COVID vaccine shot in the past six months.
CTV having a totally normal week
Adding national embarrassment to the outlet on Thursday, CTV claimed that men have no physical advantage over women in sports.
After the governing body for swimming, World Aquatics, announced it created a third category for transgender athletes to use instead of the women’s category. Subsequently, CTV claimed there’s no scientific evidence that trans women hold a physical advantage over women.
“Advocates of banning transgender women from women’s sport have argued that transgender women have a physical advantage over cisgender women in sports,” the outlet wrote.
“But the mainstream science does not support that conclusion,” CTV’s Ben Church said.
“A 2017 report in the journal Sports Medicine that reviewed several related studies found ‘no direct or consistent research’ on Trans people having an athletic advantage over their cisgender peers, and critics say the bans add to the discrimination trans people face.”
