Canadian psychologist and author Dr. Jordan Peterson went scorched earth on CBC in a social media post, calling them “unrepentant butcher-enablers” and accusing them of misleading readers by seeking out far-left doctors who support giving transgender care to children.
“Everything they publish is a lie in one damned way or another,” Dr. Peterson noted, referring to a Monday article from the state-broadcaster that covered the UK’s recent decision to ban puberty blockers and hormone therapy for youth under 16.
In their article, CBC noted the Cass report that led to the UK’s ban, but quickly pivoted to: “Canadian doctors who spoke to CBC News disagree with the finding that there isn’t enough evidence puberty blockers can help.”
In a scathing response, Peterson responded on X: “All the truth the unrepentant butcher-enablers at @CBCNews are capable of is invisibly hidden in this one line: ‘Canadian doctors who spoke to CBC disagree…’”
“Right. All the ‘doctors’ who spoke to @CBCNews were chosen because they disagreed, ” he said.
Dr. Peterson finished: “I find them detestable. Everything they publish is a lie in one damned way or another. And these lies lead to the crimes against humanity denounced by the Cass report.”
Cass report finds trans care often lacks evidence
England’s only specialized clinic that treated children and teenagers for gender dysphoria, the Tavistock gender clinic, was shut down in 2022 after the NHS viewed Dr. Hilary Cass’s report, which found the clinic was unsafe for children, lacked evidence in dolling out prescriptions, and didn’t bother to track long-term data.
England’s health minister, Maria Caulfield, welcomed the NHS’ decision, saying, “Ending the routine prescription of puberty blockers will help ensure that care is based on evidence, expert clinical opinion and is in the best interests of the child.”
WPATH under fire
Leaked files last month indicated that members of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) often engage in improvised treatments without meeting the rigorous standards expected in medical care.
One leaked video clip shows one WPATH panel member acknowledging that many young adults who received so-called gender affirming care later experience “reproductive regret.”
WPATH has not released a statement on their webpage in regards to the discovery.
In a March 28 statement, WPATH wrote, “As practitioners with decades of experience caring for transgender patients, WPATH members are leaders in developing and providing evidence-based medically necessary healthcare for our community and we’ll never stop.”
Canadian doctor says trans surgeries as natural as giving birth
Meanwhile, one of the doctors who spoke to the CBC bizarrely equated the UK’s ban on puberty blockers to banning doctors from helping women giving birth.
“That would be kind of like saying for a pregnant woman, since we lacked randomized clinical trials for the care of people in pregnancy, we’re not going to provide care for you.… It’s completely unethical,” said Dr. Jake Donaldson, a Calgary physician who treats transgender patients.
Donaldson further stated “There actually is a lot of evidence, just not in the form of randomized clinical trials.”
