Marc Primeau, a former federal employee, has admitted to directing seventy-two (72) sole-source contracts to his personal company, amounting to over $230,000 in taxpayer dollars.
While working for Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), Primeau directed $231,663.48 in purchases to Access Security Logistix (ASL), a company that he fully owned.
In a statement on Wednesday, the RCMP revealed that Primeau admitted to the breach of trust.
“Due to his position within ISED, Mr. Primeau was the person responsible for ensuring that goods were properly received from ASL to ISED, while concealing his relationship with ASL from ISED,” the statement read.
The violation took place between February 1, 2016, and September 26, 2018. Primeau was dismissed from ISED in February 2019.
Modifications to ISED’s internal accounting and record-keeping systems exposed Primeau’s activities, prompting the referral of the case to the RCMP for further investigation.
24-month sentence
Following the investigation, Primeau plead guilty to breach of trust resulting in certain charges being withdrawn, and a 24-month conditional sentence.
“He has delivered restitution funds in the amount of $90,000 to ISED. The amount reflects an estimate of the profits that Mr. Primeau gained illegally,” the RCMP added.
Green Slush Fund whistleblower implicates Trudeau Government in massive corruption scandal
A recent standing committee meeting on Industry and Technology saw an explosive testimony from a whistleblower alleging a coverup by the Trudeau Government of mass-scale financial corruption from one of their non profits.
The whistleblower, Israr Ahmad, recently worked for two years on financial due diligence and compliance projects for Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC).
SDTC is funded by the Trudeau Government’s ISED, and is referred to by the Conservatives as the “green slush fund.”
