In a completely unhinged rant, Liberal Health Minister Mark Holland proclaimed that taking a family vacation is tantamount to murdering the planet.
“Good news, kids. You can take a summer, fun-time vacation where you’re locked in a car for 10 consecutive days, non-stop with no bathroom breaks, and the Conservatives have a plan for you to have that summer-time fun,” Holland said before parliament.
“And the cost? Give up the future of the planet!”
He continued, yelling, “Don’t worry, kids, about climate change! Don’t worry about taking action on the planet! Enjoy your 10 hours in the car, and let the planet burn!”
Of course, Holland, who has had more than a few outbursts as of late, made no mention of the gas-guzzling, jet-setting Prime Minister who’s followed around day and night by the score of vehicles that make up his motorcade.
Nor did he mention the many PR pics that Trudeau had posted of his family vacations, including one of an RV trip he took back when he and Sophie were still pretending everything was fine—the exact sort of trip Holland believes is making the planet burn.
Holland’s comments were in response to MP Rachel Thomas’s critique of the carbon tax, saying that Canadians look forward to taking an annual vacation but that the economy is so bad that many can’t even dream of it, largely due to the carbon tax pumping up the price of gas.
Apparently, the idea of being able to afford a vacation, or even wanting to do such a thing, is laughable to the Liberals. The ‘greater good’ of ‘saving the planet’ comes before Canadian families’ happiness.
