Liberal MP calls Trudeau’s cabinet shuffle “lipstick on a pig”

A couple of Trudeau’s Liberal MPs have reportedly spoken out anonymously against their boss, with one even comparing him to the disastrous former Ontario Premier, Kathleen Wynne.

Liberal MP calls Trudeau’s cabinet shuffle “lipstick on a pig”

One reportedly told the Toronto Star that the mood among the Trudeau Liberal caucus is worse now than it was before the PM completely overhauled his cabinet.

Three weeks ago, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that seven MPs were getting the boot from his cabinet — with four others quitting.

The anonymous MP referred to Trudeau’s cabinet re-shuffle as to putting “lipstick on a pig.”  However, the same MP said that the “vast majority” of MPs still support their boss.

Another anonymous MP said that there’s a growing sense of frustration among party members.

“People are starting to question … ‘Do I want to keep taking the beating I’m taking?’”

“I’m just sensing a lot of frustration,” they added.

This MP also said that the Liberal Party currently feels like what the former Ontario Liberal Party became under Premier Kathleen Wynne. Wynne was so despised that even the CBC admitted she was a complete disaster. Wynne refused to step down as leader, and ended up losing by a landslide in the 2018 election to Ontario’s Conservative Party leader, Doug Ford.

Trudeau in trouble

Trudeau’s polling numbers have been horrible for a few months.

338 Canada shows the PM’s Liberal Party losing to the Conservatives by a wide margin, if an election were to be held today. The Conservatives are currently projected to win between 135-201 seats, compared to the Liberals projected to win 77-140.

170 seats are needed to form a majority government.
