Liberals claim late night voting might literally kill them

Liberal MPs took a page out of their boss’s drama teaching days by claiming that the Conservatives keeping them working late hours might cause one of them to die.

Liberals claim late night voting might literally kill them

The hyperbole came after the Opposition Conservatives said they would intentionally bombard the Trudeau Liberals’ economic legislation with endless procedural motions until the Liberals provide more carbon tax carve-outs.

“I cannot stress how dangerous this is for people’s health. Someone is going to die in one of these stunts,” said Liberal Party of Canada candidate Doug Eyolfson.

Liberal House Speaker Karina Gould said “health breaks” are needed during the night, while Liberal whip Steve MacKinnon said with a straight face that working an all-nighter is something “no human being should have to go through.”

“We are projecting up to thirty straight hours of voting,” he added.

Gould further said Poilievre’s tactics reflect an “extreme right-wing agenda.”

“You will have no rest until the tax is gone”

The Poilievre Conservatives proudly stated they would pitch  “thousands of amendments” to the Liberals’ bills as a last resort to pressure the Liberals to provide more carbon tax carve-outs for Canadians.

“You will have no rest until the tax is gone,” Poilievre said.

Following up on his promise, Conservative MPs introduced 20,000 amendments to just one bill (C-50 – Sustainable Jobs).

“You’ve ruined Christmas for Canadians”

The move comes after the Senate narrowly passed an amendment to the Conservatives’ Bill C-234, which attempted to cut the carbon tax for farmers. The passed amendment effectively gutted the bill.

“Yesterday, after manipulation and intimidation by Justin Trudeau, Liberal senators voted to gut a common sense Conservative bill that would have taken the tax for our farmers.”

“You’ve ruined Christmas for Canadians. Common sense Conservatives are going to ruin your vacation as well,” he said.
