During a committee hearing addressing the rise in extremism, the federal Liberals tabled a motion to summon the makers of Minecraft and Roblox.

Liberals move to summon Roblox and Minecraft to National Security Committee

Liberal MP Pam Damoff proposed the motion on Thursday.

“Given the growing trend of violent extremism, in particular the increase in youth involvement…” she started, before listing off a number representatives, including Snapchat, TikTok, Minecraft and Roblox.

Ms. Damoff said that their testimony before a committee would help government investigate the role they’re playing in rising levels of hatred and extremism.

“Whether it’s to ISIS, whether it’s to groups that target women, groups that target the LGBT community, groups that target the Muslim community…” she explained.
