In a recent interview, Liberal Minister Melanie Joly took a swipe at the Trump administration while bragging that Canada sends billions of taxpayer dollars to Africa.

Melanie Joly brags that Canada sends billions to Africa

The foreign affairs minister said that Canada “believes that international aid is important” compared to “certain countries”, a not-so-subtle reference to the United States.

Joly said that Canada’s foreign aid commitments in Africa total over $4 billion over the last five years.

Meanwhile, Canadian social media users continue to express envy over the U.S. efficiency department known as DOGE, while highlighting some of Canada’s most ridiculous foreign aid expenditures.

In the socially conservative continent of Africa, the federal Liberals have been attempting to spread their progressive agenda on sexual identity and abortion, including a $1.5 million project designed to “strengthen the resilience” of Francophone LGBTQI+ movements in Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia, all of which are places that prohibit sexual acts between same-sex individuals.

Another ridiculed project in this region was the 5 year, $4 million project for abortions (“reproductive health”) in Morocco.

Abortion-related foreign spending project totals around $1.4 billion, given Trudeau’s 2019 pledge for supporting women’s health globally, much of which falls into Africa.

Perhaps the single most outrageous spending is the $3 million anti-public defecation ad campaign in Nigeria.

Many of these dollars get funnelled into countries with the most corrupt governments, including military run regimes such as Algeria and Mali, which have been some of the biggest beneficiaries of Canadian tax dollars.
