Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk mocked Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in light of the viral realization that Google’s AI photo generator refuses to show pictures of white people.

The context of Musk’s jest stems from an unexpected discovery: Google’s AI Photo generator, for reasons unexplained, seems unable to produce or deliberately avoids generating images of white individuals.
Musk, seizing on the peculiar limitation, posted, “I can’t believe Gemini made these unfair pics of Truedough,” posting real images of Trudeau wearing costumes including Blackface, dressing as an Indigenous man, and wearing Indian garb.

The joke comes after social media users all realized that Google’s Gemini AI literally refuses to show White people. For example, when asking the AI photo generator to produce photos of America’s founding fathers, the photos showed pictures of Black men.

After one user asked AI to “create an image of a white man”, Google AI responded: “I can’t generate images of people, as it can be used to create harmful stereotypes and biases.”
However, when asking for a picture of a Black man, Google AI was compliant.
So, the only people Google's AI can't generate images of are white people.
