CBC LIES: Massively Downplays Trucker Convoy, Says It’s About Icy Roads

Not satisfied with downplaying previous anti-mandate protests, now the CBC says the thousands of truckers unambiguously protesting mandates are actually just concerned about icy roads.

For starters, it clearly isn’t just the hundreds of truckers who are starting their long drive to Ottawa from BC — this would be like saying a Roman legion is just a handful of well-equipped soldiers — rather, several videos have emerged of hundreds in several areas of each province amassing, collectively constituting thousands.

But this isn’t the worse sleight of hand perpetrated by the CBC. The worst is lying about what the truckers are protesting about, to begin with.

According to the CBC, “The rally, organized by the West Coast Trucking Association, made its way from Surrey to Vancouver Saturday afternoon, in hopes of bringing awareness to the icy and dangerous road conditions truckers say they’ve had to deal with this winter season.”

This is a bald-faced lie.

Firstly, The West Coast Trucking Association is not organizing the anti-mandate trucker convoy; they are one of the few organizations not standing in unison with their unvaccinated colleagues.

Instead, the trucker convoy is being organized by Colin Valentim and is officially called the “Convoy to End Mandates.” Could it be any more blatant what this is all about?

Moreover, Valentim says that he found hundreds of supporters willing to drive across the country to protest the mandate in Southern BC alone and has only accumulated more ahead of his provincial departure.

Additionally, truckers participating in the protest are even blunter, donning massive signs on their vehicles so that nobody is left wondering what they’re doing.

“MY RIGHTS DON’T END WHERE YOUR FEAR BEGINS! NO MANDATES” reads one trucker’s message.

“NO LOCKDOWNS, NO MANDATES, NO VAX PASSPORTS, FREEDOM,” reads another.

“NO Mandates, Forced Vaxing, Censorship, Carbon Tax, Discrimination, Lies,” yet another message reads.

These messages accompany the growing number of videos exploding on social media that feature truckers explaining, in no unclear terms, just what the truckers are protesting: the vaccine mandate, which was introduced for truckers on January 15.

All in all, it is clear that the CBC is outright lying by penning their misinformation article that the truckers are driving across one of the largest countries on the planet to tell the Prime Minister they don’t like ice on the roads. Obviously.

This protest is about the authoritarian measures taken by the federal government, and no amount of fake news will change that.
