Globalist climate conference left an enormous carbon footprint, more than double the impact in 2019

The push for climate regulations to fight the weather is heating up around the world as globalists look for a new means of punishing humanity following the COVID pandemic’s loss of credibility. But, once again, these same globalists are revealing themselves to be hypocrites, leaving a massive carbon footprint in the aftermath of their two-week UN Climate Conference.

According to an UN-commissioned preliminary assessment, the COP26 conference is projected to generate roughly 102,500 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

To put that in perspective, the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator produces the following equivalents for the impact of the CO2 emissions caused by the COP26 conference:

  • 11,533,701 gallons of gasoline consumed

  • 10,068,762 gallons of diesel consumed

  • 113,291,558 pounds of coal burned

  • 1,357 tanker truck’s worth of gasoline

  • 12,343 homes’ energy use for one year

  • 18,618 homes’ electricity use for one year

  • 237,309 barrels of oil consumed

  • 4,190,170 propane cylinders used for home barbeques

  • 0.026 coal-fired power plants in one year

In terms of the Greenhouse gas emissions equivalent, the calculator produces the following equivalencies:

  • 22,292 passenger vehicles driven for one year

  • 257,602,782 miles driven

According to the preliminary assessment, “The majority of emissions are estimated to come from international aviation, equating to approximately 60 per cent of the baseline footprint.”

“Other large contributions arise from: Accommodation for delegates and participants; policing and security for the event; transportation to and from venues during the event; venue energy, water, and waste management; temporary venue space construction and transportation of materials; and venue catering.”

The 102,500 metric tons of CO2 is comparatively massive when looking at the relatively minuscule impact of the 2019 UN climate conference, which produced 51,101 metric tons of carbon dioxide.

Despite this doubling of carbon emissions, several ‘experts’ are playing goalie for those attending such hypocritical climate conferences, saying that it will lead to carbon savings in the future. In other words, it’s all for the greater good.

“The question shouldn’t be how do we reduce emissions at these type[s] of events, but how do we speed up the phasing out all fossil fuels, end fossil finance and leverage the climate finance needed to support a global just transition, so that we don’t have to have these type of conferences in the first place,” said Cansin Leylim, associate director of global projects at anti-fossil fuel group 350.org, while speaking to the New York Times.

University of Bath ‘energy expert’ Stephen Allen agreed, saying, “I suppose in a way, we’re investing carbon emissions in trying to secure a good international agreement that then leads to really big carbon savings.”

So, it’s okay when a handful of political elites create the carbon dioxide equivalent of over 113 million pounds of coal burned over two weeks, but the plebs are expected to give up their gas-powered cars by 2030 or 2050 and reduce their meat consumption, drastically reducing the quality of their lives, for the sake of saving the planet.

All in all, it looks like it’s do as I say, not as I do, as per usual.
