The CBC has been dead silent over the last weeks amidst heavy rainfall despite spending a year scaremongering about droughts.
As many might remember, the CBC dedicated a significant portion of its 2023 coverage of Alberta to pushing climate propaganda related to hot temperatures and wildfires, painting an apocalyptic picture of Alberta becoming a desert wasteland.
“Dwindling water supply leaves some southern Alberta farmers dry,” reads one headline; “Wet winter needed to feed next years’ crops,” reads another; “Low river levels in Calgary spark concerns,” says the CBC in 2023; “City of Calgary reduces water use amid drought conditions”.
And we could go on, but you probably get the picture.
You’d think the end times were upon us and the Bow River, as was suggested in many articles, was drying up.
Unsurprisingly, though, 2023 was just a slightly hotter year than 2022, and it wasn’t a big deal.
But that didn’t stop the CBC from warning about droughts as recently as May 2, just weeks ago, right before Alberta began seeing record and near-record rain in towns and cities across the province, with Medicine Hat breaking a 123-year-old rain record for May.
In fact, year over year, practically nothing has changed in terms of average temperature in Alberta despite mainstream outlets pushing climate propaganda.
Now, the CBC is warning about floods. But given their track record, give it a good day or two of sunshine, and they’ll be back on the drought train.
