Ontario Government: Beach defecation complaints have persisted for years

The Ontario Conservative government confirmed they’ve received complaints for four years about people defecating on Wasaga Beach.

Ontario Government: Beach defecation complaints have persisted for years

The admission comes two weeks after popular TikToker, Natty Lynn, when viral for claiming that she’s seen mostly Indian immigrants defecating in the sand from within their tents, instead of finding a public restroom.

“Wasaga Beach Provincial Park staff have occasionally received complaints about defecation or urination on beaches since 2020, however no specific evidence of these allegations has been found during patrols by staff or regular beach maintenance,” stated a spokesperson from the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.

The statement also acknowledged park staff are investigating the issue, adding, “If evidence of this activity is found, the individuals responsible may be subject to enforcement action, including a fine or removal from the park.”

The Progressive Conservative government’s admission comes after the Wasaga Beach Mayor, Brian Smith, stated the viral story was “misinformation.” Mayor Smith has since tacitly backpedaled on his claim, passing a motion to ban tents on the beach. “This has now got to be to a point where it is so disheartening,” he said.

The shocking allegations have not been proven, though stories of public defecation in Canada are on the rise.

One video from Niagara in Ontario, which houses a significant number of refugee claimants, shows a man defecating on a sidewalk, then laughing.

Another video that went viral on social media shows an Indian man at a gas station defecating at a gas pump into a cup, proceeding to dump his excrement next to the pump.
