After demanding that school children remain masked, Ontario Liberals were photographed attending an indoor rally among hundreds of people maskless.
“Well, I screwed up,” tweeted Kate Graham on Sunday, Liberal candidate for Ontario’s London North Centre.
“I’m masking at indoor gatherings most of the time, other than when eating, speaking or for photos. I wish I wore my mask more consistently yesterday. Learning from this,” Graham wrote.
The same day she apologized, Graham tweeted a picture of herself canvassing while masked up outdoors. Just two weeks prior, she claimed that masks work and that she would continue to wear one to protect children too young to be vaccinated supposedly.
“Will you keep masking to keep her & other kids & vulnerable Londoners safe? Because I will.”
Graham wasn’t the only Liberal to hypocritically dismiss their own call for continued masking. Tyler Watt, another Ontario Liberal candidate, tweeted on March 9 that we should wait a few weeks before lifting the mask mandate in schools. This would entail school children must wear masks into April.
Yet Watt can be seen with no mask while standing in a crowd of people, indoors, directly behind Ontario Liberal candidate Steven Del La Duca. Unlike Graham, Watt has not publicly commented on his hypocrisy.
And of course, the Liberal candidate vying to be the next Premier of Ontario, Del La Duca himself, seemingly approved all the maskless faces at his campaign rally, even though he criticized conservative Premier Doug Ford just two weeks prior for lifting the mask mandate.
None of this is new for Canadian liberals. In December, Calgary’s socialist Mayor Jyoti Gondek was caught maskless despite supporting mask mandates.
Of course, as most know, this is just par for the course. Liberals remain the elite in-group of masks and restrictions for thee and parties and galas for me.
