The Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) finished a one-year investigation into a teacher’s critical comments about WOKE ideology — and will allow her to keep her license.
Chanel Pfahl’s school board suspended her in March 2021 for expressing online opinions challenging Critical Race Theory (CRT).
CRT is a collectivist ideology that reduces people down to their skin colour by requiring presumptions to be made accordingly.
CRT proponents say no racism exists (or even can exist) towards white people. White people are inherently racist and must unlearn racist biases.
In 2021, Pfahl said students shouldn’t be indoctrinated with CRT.
“Focus on kindness to everyone and speak out against any form of discrimination you see,” she said at the time.
Subsequently, her local school board suspended her and began an investigation into her comments. In March 2022, the OCT began an investigation into her comments.
On Wednesday, Pfahl tweeted that the OCT determined she can keep her teaching license.
“GOOD NEWS: the Ontario College of Teachers has officially concluded their investigation, and my teaching license remains intact,” Pfahl said.
“They delivered a 2 minute ‘oral caution’ this morning, and that was that. Thanks to @TDF_Can for representing me throughout this ordeal.”
The “win” for Pfahl and free speech comes at a time when the local Canadian school boards have gone off the deep end and into the WOKE abyss.
Last week, an elected school board trustee was banned from attending all future board meetings merely because she questioned the board’s policy that permits hiding a child’s “gender transition” from their parents.
The trustee’s comments were labelled “racist” and “transphobic.”
Moreover, as reported last week, an Ontario school board will offer a gym class specifically for LGBT students next year.
