Pope Francis declared climate change, “at this moment, is a road to death” while being interviewed at the Vatican.
During the interview, Pope Francis expressed profound concern about global warming, accusing world leaders and fossil fuels of being the primary contributors.
He stated that we have reached “the point of no return” when asked about his level of worry regarding climate change, noting that wealthy nations are becoming increasingly reliant on fossil fuels.
“They are the countries that can make the most difference, given their industry and all, aren’t they? But it is very difficult to create an awareness of this,” the Pope remarked.
“They hold a conference, everybody is in agreement, they all sign, and then bye-bye. But we have to be very clear: global warming is alarming,” he added.
He further asserted that “Climate change, at this moment, is a road to death.”
“It’s sad, but that’s what it is. Global warming is a serious problem,” he concluded.
On Earth Day last month, the Pope conveyed his opinions on social media, tweeting that the Earth “is falling into ruin” and that we have “failed to protect the planet.”
The Vatican denounces gender ideology
Contrary to his liberalistic perspective on climate change, the Pope recently stated that gender-affirming surgeries are undignified and wrong.
Last month, the Vatican announced that men and women are biologically separate beings and denounced gender ideology as a false theory meant to “make oneself God.”
Released in a 20-page document called “Infinite Dignity,” the Vatican stated that so-called “gender-affirming surgery” and surrogacy are violations of the Catholic faith.
Altering your pronouns or receiving gender-affirming surgery could fall into the category of making oneself God, according to the document.
“Any sex-change intervention, as a rule, risks threatening the unique dignity the person has received from the moment of conception,” it states.
