Argentine President Javier Milei boldly stated that popular YouTuber Mr. Beast has done more for the world than the UN has in its 78-year history.
Milei made his claim on X in an attempt to highlight just how little the UN has actually accomplished.
“YouTuber Mr Beast and the list of things he did for humanity: He built 100 water wells in Africa. Donated $3 million to Ukrainian refugees,” he said.
Milei continued: “He built houses for homeless families. Delivered supplies to poor schools in the US. Saved an orphanage. Gave 20,000 shoes to children in Africa. He helped 1000 disabled people walk again. He built a school in Cameroon.
What did the UN do in 78 years? Nothing.”
The 23-year-old YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson – better known as Mr. Beast – has more than 100 million subscribers and averages 76.2 million views per video. His net worth is estimated to be around $500 million.
This star has used his accumulated wealth in various philanthropic efforts. He recently released a video from Africa where he was building 100 wells, including in Cameroon, Kenya, Somalia, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
Milei threatening to disobey the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
Milei, meanwhile, has said he won’t comply with the UN’s 2030 agenda, which focuses on 17 sustainable development goals.
The annual UN expenditure is 40 times higher than it was in the early 1950s, even accounting for inflation.
A global level 2020 survey found that 27% of the world’s population do not trust the UN.
Earlier this week, Conservative MP mulled the idea of pulling out of the UN “and its subsidiary organizations,” which was promptly criticized by Liberal and NDP MPs as being extreme.
