Today, October 22, marks the seventh anniversary of the Islamic terrorist attack on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, perpetrated by Michael Zehaf-Bibeau. He killed one soldier, Nathan Cirillo, and injured two others. Two days earlier, another terrorist incident occurred, where Muslim convert Martin “Ahmad” Couture-Rouleau rammed two Canadian Forces members with a car.
These were attacks on the heart of Canada, an assault motivated by hatred for Canadian culture and principles at their core. What is Justin Trudeau’s answer to the legacy of these threats? Empty platitudes about multiculturalism and diversity to further encourage the importation of foreigners into the country who are hostile towards our way of life. He is more upset about people’s justified fear of what radical Islam can inflict upon the country rather than radical Islam itself.
Earlier this month, in the UK, MP Sir David Amess was stabbed to death in the act of Islamic terrorism, with the prime suspect being Ali Harbi Ali, who was a Somali immigrant himself. In November 2020, an Islamic terror attack in Vienna, Austria, killed four people and injured 23. It is apparent that Islamic terrorism is not going away anytime soon. This is especially the case when it is quickly swept under the rug rather than treated like the serious threat it is.
In the time of COVID, it is easy to pretend that this type of terror is only an issue of the past. It is not. Trudeau has planned to bring over 1.2 million immigrants over three years in 2020, a number which has been padded even further since the fall of the Afghan government this year. Part of this interest lies in propping up the faltering economy, now burdened by unprecedented levels of debt from pandemic spending and securing more support for the Liberal party with changing demographics. In August 2021, the government of Canada announced it would resettle 20,000 Afghans. They claimed this was to protect “the vulnerable”. In the US, a program that would resettle 95,000 Afghan refugees would cost over $6.3 billion. It stands to reason that Canada, which is already wracked with tremendous debt, would also be proportionally expensive.
While the Canadian government claims that these programs are oriented towards protecting the vulnerable, these programs frequently result in the creation of even more vulnerable people in their host countries. For example, immigrant Afghan men in Sweden are 79 times more likely to commit sexual crimes than men born from two Swedish citizens.
Some assume that those who opposed the Taliban and were allies of coalition forces in Afghanistan were necessarily the “good guys”. Not so. The practice of “bachi baza”, a cultural practice where young boys were sexually abused and often trafficked by older men, was widespread in Afghanistan. It took until 2018 before it was finally outlawed, with it still occurring until the government’s fall due to widespread corruption and non-enforcement. It is important to note that the Taliban had outlawed this practice before the fall of their government in 2001 and punished it severely.
Moreover, since the perpetrators of this practice were frequently allied to coalition forces, soldiers were ordered to turn a blind eye to this vile abuse. Yet, despite all of this, Trudeau and the Canadian left have the gall to brazenly lie to people about how these refugees will all become doctors and engineers and will integrate well into our society.
