The NDP have voted against a non-confidence motion in Justin Trudeau for the third time since “ripping up” their Supply-and-Confidence agreement that required they do so.

The motion was defeated by a margin of 180 to 157, with Liberal and NDP MPs all voting against it, as well as the scandal-plagued and now Independent MP, Han Dong.

If enough NDP or Liberal MPs voted “No” along with the Conservatives and Bloc Quebecois, Justin Trudeau would have been forced to either resign or dissolve parliament and call an election.

This latest non-confidence motion was put forward by Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre in a deliberate attempt to illustrate Singh’s hypocrisy.

“I agree with Jagmeet Singh that the Trudeau government is ‘greedy’ and ‘anti-worker,’” Poilievre posted on social media. “Now, Jagmeet Singh will have a chance to vote for a non-confidence motion made up entirely of his own words. Will Jagmeet vote YES or NO on his own words?”

Poilievre’s non-confidence motion strictly included things that Singh has said when describing Justin Trudeau’s incompetence.

On Monday, Singh voted NO, meaning he refused to agree with what he’d already said about Trudeau.

After Singh announced that his Supply and Confidence agreement was over, he said he would review each non-confidence motion on a case-by-case basis.
