Sophie Gregoire Trudeau subtly shades PM

The Canadian Prime Minister’s now-separated wife threw subtle shade towards him during a Forbes summit in Abu Dhabi.

Sophie Gregoire Trudeau subtly shades PM

Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, who separated with hubby Justin in August 2023, was attending the Forbes and Know Your Value’s annual 30/50 submit earlier in the month where she told the audience that women “shouldn’t expect the minimum” and should prioritize “emotional well-being and psychological safety.”

“You should expect a maximum of nourishment, presence and help in your life with the people around you. And we shouldn’t have to hold it all together as women,” she said.

She also told the audience “I love human connection … I love good mischief. Who doesn’t? I think we need more playfulness in this world — and it doesn’t mean that we’re light and that there’s no substance — it’s quite the opposite.”

She added: “We should be very wary of … adults who can’t play anymore.”

Gregoire Trudeau will be releasing a self help book on April 23 titled “Closer Together: Knowing Ourselves, Loving Each Other.”

Her website describes the book as a “deeply personal journey toward self-knowledge, acceptance, and empowerment, drawing on the expertise of top psychologists, psychiatrists, scientists, and thought leaders.”

Responding to her upcoming book, the Canadian television show 22 Minutes quipped on X: “Sophie Trudeau is releasing her own self-help book, do we really need advice from a woman who married Justin Trudeau?”

Gregoire Trudeau has now re-partnered with an Ottowa Doctor, Marcos Bettolli, after her separation with Trudeau in August last year.

Justin and Sophie’s divorce

In August of 2023, the previous couple announced their divorce after an 18-year marriage

They stated the decision came “after much thought and careful consideration.”

“Justin and I would like to share the fact that after many meaningful and difficult conversations, we have made the decision to separate. As always, we remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have built and will continue to build,” stated Grégoire Trudeau on her instagram.

However, their divorce did not stop the family from taking a vacation the week of the announcement.

The PMO put out a statement saying the former couple still resemble a “loving and collaborative environment” and announced their family vacation that week.

The PMO failed to mention the location of the planned vacation or if it would be taxpayer-funded.
