Sophie Trudeau rudely corrects Jill Biden’s English

First lady Jill Biden and Prime Minister Trudeau’s wife Sophie toured a curling rink in Ottawa where Sophie took offense at an innocent joke from Biden and rudely corrected her.

Sophie and Jill were seated at a table inside the curling rink where they spoke with young curlers about the relationship between sports and mental health.

Sophie asked the young athletes a long-winded question to introduce the topic, essentially providing all of the answers in her question.

When she finally finished her question, Biden asked the athletes, “Is that too long of a question?”

“It wasn’t a question!” Sophie snapped back.

After the first curler answered Sophie’s question  — in what was mostly a scripted answer — Sophie joked that the meeting was over.

“And it’s your wrap. Goodbye!” she said while pretending to leave.

Earlier in the tour, as the two ladies entered the curling rink, Biden asked Sophie why the curlers weren’t wearing skates, to which a curling coach explained to her that curlers don’t wear skates.

The meeting between the two ladies comes a day after the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) informed the public that it was Justin and wife Sophie who spent $6,000 for one night in a luxury hotel suite with butler service while attending the Queen’s funeral.

The admission came after months of inquiry from media outlets and politicians in the House of Commons, including from Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre, which Trudeau steadfastly refused to answer.

In a statement, the PMO chalked up the expense to surging prices during the time of the Queen’s funeral given the high demand for rooms. However, as the National Post pointed out, the hotel’s current listed price for the same room Trudeau stayed in is higher now than what it was in September.
