Trudeau mercilessly mocked for trying to get Taylor Swift’s attention

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was ridiculed by federal Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre, thousands of social media users, and even Fox News for his childish tweet to singer Taylor Swift.

Trudeau mercilessly mocked for trying to get Taylor Swift’s attention

After Swift tweeted out her new tour dates in Europe, Trudeau responded on Thursday night, prompting some users to ask if he had been drinking.

“It’s me, hi,” Trudeau said to Swift. “I know places in Canada would love to have you. So, don’t make it another cruel summer. We hope to see you soon.”

Several users ripped into the PM for the odd tweet, including Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre.

“Doubling housing costs force families into the streets. Carbon taxes force people to cut meals. A strike at our biggest federal port… And you’re trying to make friends with celebrities. Do your job,” Poilievre said.

One random user replied to Trudeau, “Anybody else read that in his creepy actor soft voice?”

“Hey Justin, that’s not Taylor’s DM,” said another.

“Taylor Swift likely experienced this tweet differently,” quipped user Steven Tyler.

Even Fox News put out an article stating Trudeau was “fan-girling” over Swift.

Not his first time

Trudeau has been known to suck up to celebrities. Earlier this year, he showed the world a picture of himself with actor Hugh Jackman, who looked to have reluctantly accepted the picture.

In 2019, Trudeau was also called a creep after trying to cozy up to Canadian tennis US Open champion, Bianca Andreescu.
