Trudeau not going to Stampede after getting booed too much last year

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has not committed to attending the Calgary Stampede this year, which kicks off Friday night and runs until Sunday, July 14.

Trudeau not going to Stampede after getting booed too much last year

Ottawa Playbook reports having viewed an email showing Trudeau’s itinerary for the next two weeks, with no indication that he plans to attend.

The Prime Minister typically makes a brief appearance at the event dubbed “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.”

Trudeau often posts a few pictures of himself, such as in an empty stadium or a parking lot, flipping pancakes far from the main events and the crowds of Western Canadians.

However, this year might be different. Local porch pirate and Liberal MP George Chahal is one of nine of Trudeau’s MPs reportedly demanding the Liberal caucus chair, Brenda Shanahan, set up an in-person meeting following a shocking Toronto by-election loss to the Conservatives in a riding considered one of the safest Liberal strongholds in the country.

When he’s not committing election fraud, Chahal regularly hosts a pancake flipping event that Trudeau has attended in the past.

Speculation about Trudeau’s potential resignation is mounting, but he insists he’s not stepping down anytime soon.

Last week, Trudeau’s former minister of climate change, Catherine McKenna, stated that she thinks it’s time for him to resign.

Moreover, the day after the byelection, Ontario Liberal Party Leader Bonnie Crombie tried to distance herself from Trudeau, saying the federal party doesn’t represent her provincial party before branding herself as “more of a centrist”.

Even the mainstream media, Justin’s go-to source for misinformation and PR defence, is asking the question of when he’ll resign, with the Toronto Star printing headlines like “Justin Trudeau’s political career is over. He can walk away with dignity now or stick around to get creamed by a man he loathes”.

Additionally, on Canada Day, Trudeau did not attend a public event, as he usually does, fueling further speculation.
